Marcin Świetlik

Warsaw Development Planning Office / Society of the Polish Town Planners

Marcin Świetlik is a graduate of Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology (1972) and a postgraduate of Regional Planning at the Warsaw School of Economics (1979).

Since 1973 he’s been employed at the Warsaw Development Planning Office. He’s recently taken the position of the Manager of the City Centre Studio. He’s the lead planner of a number of studies on conditioning and directions of physical development (e.g. Warsaw City Centre, Płock, Przemyśl, Zakroczyn, Tłuszcz) and local development plans (Stary Mokotów district, Olbracht region, Fort Bema stage 1, Zawady and Kępa Zawadowska, Natolin Zachodni, Sokołów Podlaski, Tłuszcz). He’s a co-planner of the Tripolitania Regional Plan, the lead designer of Fezzan Regional Plan and the action area plans of districts of Trypolis: Suq Al Juma and Hayy Al Andalous (Libya).

He’s an author of specialised studies: A study on location of highrise buildings in the Śródmieście district in Warsaw and a Study on delimitation of the Protected Landscape Region of the Warsaw Escarpment. He’s a co-author of a guide on Physical Planning Act and an author of a guide A prognosis of the financial results of the local plan. He’s won urban competitions for a concept of a study of conditioning and directions of physical development of the City of Płock (I prize) and the City of Warsaw (honourable mention).

He’s received a Badge for his achievements for the Special and Municipal Planning and a Honourable Golden Badge of the Society of the Polish Town Planners.
