Krystyna Solarek is an architect, urban planner and researcher, dealing with different aspects associated with contemporary urban development, city structure and suburbanization processes. She is a Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology, Vice-Dean for Research and the Head of the Laboratory of Theory and Urban Design at the Faculty of Architecture, where she teaches urban design and town planning. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications, but also licensed urban planner, practicing in the SOL-AR Architectural Studio, member of Society of Polish Town Planners and former member of its Board, member of few expert committees for local and state authorities. She is a chief designer of more than 70 local and general plans, author and co-author of many urban development projects, conceptual works, studies and competitions, some of which were awarded.
